The three homelab application records are explicit public records. In
Namecheap Advanced DNS the Host field is relative to perspective-v.com,
so the values are images.home, media.home, and next.home (not the full
FQDN). A root-level * record does not cover the two-label
*.home.perspective-v.com names reliably, so the explicit records are
intentional.

Homelab split-DNS boundary (2026-09-15)
Namecheap remains the public DNS source of truth. The public wildcard and the
explicit images.home, media.home, and next.home service records resolve
to the Contabo edge at 161.97.83.142; no LAN or NetBird address is published
in Namecheap for these public applications.
On the home LAN, PTCL F1611A DHCP advertises the homelab Pi-hole at
192.168.1.135. Pi-hole overrides the application hostnames below so clients
use the local homelab HTTPS edge:

pihole.home.perspective-v.com is an administration name, not a public LAN
override. Its private NetBird DNS record points to Contabo's NetBird address
100.83.72.162, and Traefik enforces netbird-only. This keeps the dashboard
reachable to authorized NetBird peers without making it an Internet-facing
service.

next-steps
**Documentation Alignment Complete:** All references in state files (next-steps.md, already-implemented.md, requirements.md, accepted-suggestions.md) have been updated to reflect the new folder structure with infrastructure stack separation (`runtime/stacks/infrastructure/*` and `runtime/environments/{dev,vps}/infrastructure/*`). Test environment references have been removed from operational docs (dev-only for templates). Legacy path patterns have been eliminated.
